Thinkin’ Pink

fight like a girl 010 crop Not a hard task for me, I admit.  For the upcoming CHERRYBRATION CELEBRATION, part of the annual Blossoms of Hope event, my friend Kelli – owner of the charming Journey from Junk boutique in Historic Ellicott City, Maryland, asked me to create a little something for her to raffle off .  Proceeds will go to Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center.  Here’s what I came up with…fight like a girl 005

I am so into creating these embellished vintage bras. I just love the circular stitching and the delicate ric rac trim.  For this one I tea-dyed the bra with some special raspberry tea from Austria to get a lovely pink color, then collaged it with antique laces from my stash.  I added a perfect pink vintage pin, pink velvet french ribbon, swarovski  crystals and a linen scrap stamped with  “fight like a girl” (dyed pink of course!)fight like a girl 003

Kelli has all sorts of fun things planned at her shop for the month of April in honor of the Blossoms of Hope event – special sales on pink items and such.  I’ll be adding a few “fight like a girl” cuff bracelets featuring vintage fabrics, lace and buttons to her stock – hope to have them done soon.  The shop windows in Ellicott City will be full of pink for the Cherrybration Celebration, encouraging all to SHOP PINK in April  to support the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center.
