Lucketts Spring Faire 2009

I spent the most wonderful day this weekend at the Lucketts Spring Faire with my friend Cindy and my mom.  The Old Lucketts Store is a truly remarkable treasure trove of antique and vintage goodness.  Their Spring Faire is a major event for my patch of the country.  Tons of folks were there enjoying the sun, listening to the live music, and of course looking for goodies.

There seemed to be quite a bit of painted and interesting upholstered furniture this year, but I stuck to smaller items this time around.  Here’s a peak at some of the fun things I was able to bring home.

Old books and photos, silver plate pieces, lace, ribbons & trims, and the most incredible Garden Game from England (Thanks Mom!)

I believe I was channeling Magnolia Pearl for a good part of the day, as evidenced by the artwork I collected!  I think it will look great with the creams and whites of my sitting room (currently in the development stages – I will keep you posted.)

This lovely painting was my favorite purchase.  The best buys of the day – silver plate items purchased before the Faire opened, from one of the Lucketts dealers set up on the porch of the general store.

I will definitely be attending this event again next year!

  • Oh what a lovely looking Faire, and to think I was doing something similar on the other side of the world ( well in Australia). I love those chairs in the phot, oh my goodness how eclectic! ( that would be my word I feel).
I love your little collection of goodies and I also have a thing for those sorts of prints which I find odd as they DO NOT fit into Lilly Cottage at all but they are so nice, maybe I need to have a look see at Magnolia Pearl.
Have a simply scrumptious day, Kiss Noises Linda

  • so bummed that I couldn’t tag along with you. What an absolute perfect day you had for treasure hunting. I love all of your purchases…..especially the painting! I’m definitely in for next year!!

  • Wow Sue, what great treasures! So sad I couldn’t go—Chloe had a soccer game. Hopefully next year will work out, and the weather will be just as beautiful!

  • Love the painting! You got great stuff. Those chairs are sooooooo awesome…I would’ve been tempted.

  • Yay! You sure got some great finds!

  • Sue!!!!! I miss you!!!!! And then I come here and I’m VERY jealous of you ~ tee hee!
I’d have to say the painting would be my favorite too, although I could have tied one (or more) of those unique chairs to the roof of my car and snuggled it nicely into a corner of my house!
I wish I’d live closer…that would be a ‘NO MISS’ event!!!
    everything vintage

  • Oh my goodness…look at all those goodies. I LOVE the chair with the burlap! Can’t wait to meet you at SB either. I can hardly wait for all the creating fun:-)

  • Wow – we see treasures like this on TV, not in real life – well not like that where I live, at the bottom of the world.
